Wayfoong Nursery School was co-founded in 1990 by Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) and the Hong Kong Christian Service, mainly aim at providing education and care for the children of HSBC staff. It is the first corporate nursery school in Hong Kong and it has been 33 years since it was first established. The school has six activity rooms, including four classrooms, one art studio and one “Big Muscle Room”. It is also equipped with a dedicated kitchen to provide quality nutritious meals for children. We are committed to providing a safe, healthy, enriching and interactive learning environment for our children so that they can learn happily and develop in a holistic manner.
Our school boasts a comprehensive and systematic curriculum that is based on curriculum theory, children development theory and research. It includes various activities that cater to the physical and psychological needs of children. In addition, it adopts a project-based learning approach and individual topics that could nurture children in a comprehensive manner, which have included the moral, intellectual, physical, social, aesthetic and spiritual aspects. We help children develop good living habits, arouse their interest in learning and cultivate positive learning attitudes to lay the foundation for future learning. Our school always put efforts on language learning and creative arts education for children. Through daily news sharing and fun language activities, we create a meaningful and interactive context to enhance children’s interest and skill in language learning. At the same time, through the daily afternoon cultural activities, art activities and spiritual and moral education, we enrich children’s life experiences, promote their capabilities in observation, thinking and creativity, and unleash their interest and potential. We aim to help our children become positive, confident, happy, grateful and caring lifelong learners.
In April 2011, our school passed the EDB’s Quality Review and won its high recognition and praise.
